PORT PERRY is an attractive lake-side town with a strong Victorian flavour that has been well preserved. With its many unique and interesting shops, it is truly a shopper's haven. A variety of eating establishments will welcome you. The downtown waterfront offers a park, walking
trail, dock, ball diamonds, tennis courts, library, marina, and cruise boat tours of Lake Scugog. Free summer Sunday night concerts and a Canada Day celebration are held in the park. These you may enjoy with your own blankets and folding chairs on the grass around the waterfront gazebo.
The earliest settlers arrived in this area well over 100 years ago. There are many century farmhouses which are architecturally delightful. Also there are some fine examples of the late 1800's Italianate style houses. Landfall Farm was originally settled by Irish immigrants in 1836. The present stone house was then built for them in 1868.
